    Single electric motors.

    Charge while you drive with regenerative braking.

    Equipped with cutting-edge technology for intelligent driving, IONIQ 5’s regenerative braking system charges the battery while driving by using the electric motor to slow the vehicle. You can control the level of energy that the system regenerates and stores in the battery by adjusting the three levels of regenerative braking with the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

      Paddle shifters.

      Adjust the level of regenerative braking with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The higher the level, the more the car slows and charges the battery when you take your foot off the accelerator.

      i-Pedal mode.

       i-Pedal mode allows acceleration/deceleration/stopping using only the accelerator pedal. Simply tap on left paddle shifter to enter fourth stage to enable the one pedal function.

      Auto Regen mode.

      When activated, Auto Regen mode controls the regenerative braking automatically according to the road grade and by utilizing front radar sensors to react to traffic ahead, slowing you down accordingly. 

      EV Platform

      Leading the charge into the electric era.

      IONIQ 5 is built on Hyundai’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This dedicated battery electric vehicle platform enables faster charging, increased driving range, more interior space and better handling. The battery pack’s position within the wheelbase ensures ideal weight distribution for improved handling performance.

        Electronic performance. 

        In the space freed up by removing the internal combustion engine, we have mounted the driving motor low down. The battery is also placed low down within the chassis allowing ideal weight distribution between front and rear and a low center of gravity for improved handling performance and a more stable high-speed experience.

        E-GMP embraces unique EV design characteristics such as short overhangs and a long wheelbase with collision safety, maximised passenger space, and battery safety.

          E-GMP enables the creation of innovative interiors designed uniquely for EVs to provide a new electrified mobility experience for our customers. The space-consuming AC system has been moved from inside the car to the extra space created by replacing the engine with an electric motor – leaving more room for passengers in the front.

          The IONIQ 5 Facelift is available with different configurations to suit your mobility needs and performance wants. Choose from two battery pack options: 63 kWh (standard range) or 84 kWh (long range) and all-wheel or rear-wheel drive.

          Just as there is a range of factors that affect the fuel efficiency of an internal combustion engine (ICE), the total electric driving range will be affected by the size of the battery, your driving style, the outside temperature, any passengers you are carrying and more.

          Charge at home overnight or top up at a fast charging station on the road in just minutes. The IONIQ 5 Facelift is flexible. Equipped with an 800V battery system for some of the fastest charging times possible today, it is also compatible for 400V charging and AC charging.

            IONIQ 5’s 800V battery system can add 336 km of range in 15 minutes! It supports charging at up to 350 kW at a DC ultra-fast charging station – charging from 10 to 80% in 18 min.

            Hyundai’s world’s first patented technology can support both 400V and 800V charging infrastructure without additional components or adapters.
