IONIQ Plug-In Hybrid is powered by a specially developed powertrain that adds driving pleasure to the environmental benefits of a hybrid system. When IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid's two hearts beat as one, the combined output of the 1.6L engine and electric motor reaches a highly gratifying 141PS. They also operate independently as conditions require. So seamless are the transitions between pure electric, hybrid and petrol-only driving modes that they are barely noticeable. In pure electric mode, IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid's range extends up to 62 km thanks to the 8.9kW/h lithium-ion polymer battery.
When used as a conventional hybrid electric vehicle, a computer selectively operates between the engine and the electric motor – or even both at the same time – depending on the level of power required to travel.
When it’s operating in electric mode, the vehicle is driven only using the electric motor until the charge from the high voltage battery becomes too low, at which point it reverts to the hybrid mode automatically.
Pure electric mode gives you up to 62 km of zero tailpipe emissions, depending on your driving style and road conditions

In order to optimise the performance of the IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid, we strongly recommend that owners have a charging system at home. This can provide a 100% charge in 2 hours 15 minutes
IONIQ Electric is delivered with an In-Cable Control Box (ICCB) Emergency 3 Pin Connector that can be used when travelling to places with no other dedicated charging solutions. Charging time is approximately 6 hours.

LKA keeps the car centered within the lane markers using a front view camera. Should the vehicle drift out of its intended lane path, LKA sets off a visual and sound alarm and automatically corrects the steering angle thereby preventing unintentional lane departure.
Front view camera and front radar work in tandem to warn of an imminent collision with another vehicle or pedestrian and if necessary, AEB will automatically apply emergency braking to prevent a collision.
In the event that airbags are deployed, eCall will automatically contact an emergency assistance call centre where the operator can assess the situation and contact the relevant services, if required. There is also an eCall button which can be manually pressed for assistance.
